Over the course of a sultry summer night, revelations, secret loves and missed opportunities come to the surface as they bare their souls. The A-list ensemble cast offers brilliantly nuanced characterisations. The lightness of touch and laid-back approach of the storytelling allow us to see the frivolities and anxieties of contemporary life. The Order of Time marks the return of 91-year-old director Liliana Cavani (Ripley’s Game, The Night Porter), who received a Golden Lion Lifetime Achievement award at the Venice Film Festival when presenting this film.
